Vedder Prices Singapore office is seeking a Global Transportation Finance Paralegal. This high-profile position entails providing paralegal support to the firms Global Transportation Finance (GTF) team. The GTF Paralegal will be responsible for document preparation and distribution preparation and filing of documents and UCCs for closings and post-closing document preparation and follow-up. This position entails direct interaction with lawyers clients and opposing counsel.
As a GTF Paralegal your duties will include but not be limited to:
- Assist lawyers with all aspects of GTF transactions including creating closing indices proofing and amending documents updating closing checklists and master closing bibles preparing master closing bibles and execution documents managing post-closing activities and attending to related matters
- Draft and lodge/register charges stamp duty ship and aircraft mortgages
- Draft corporate authorities and ancillary documents
- Deal with foreign counsel in relation to corporate authorisation and ancillary matters
- Limited due diligence in relation to corporate powers and authority
- Work with government authorities such as ACRA IRAS Ship Registry Aircraft Registry
- Proofread and check documents
- Check conditions precedent and deal with clients in connection with conditions precedent
- Prepare instructions to counsel for various transactions under the supervision of a lawyer
- Assist the team in consolidating and updating know-how
- Conduct research related to transactions and filings through both print and electronic sources
- Prepare and review Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) filings and documentation
- Prepare or manage the preparation of closing bibles and post-closing documentation including electronic and hard-copy master bibles; distribute original documents and closing sets to the relevant transaction parties; proofread CD and hard-copy master bibles
- Assist in the creation organisation and management of physical and virtual data rooms
- Analyse and organise records and documents
- Review reconcile and approve certain vendor invoices pre- and post-closing to ensure timely billing to the client
- Research areas of practice interest and circulate summaries to lawyers
- Manage CD master bible library
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the lawyers

Qualifications & Required Experience:
- Good academic record; bachelors or equivalent degree preferred
- Excellent verbal and written skills and confidence to communicate well in a multi-cultural multi-level environment
Computer Skills:
- Fully proficient in working with Microsoft Office applications
- Knowledge of iManage or other document management system
