Job Description

As part of our companys continuing growth we are looking for a Payroll and Benefits Manager. This position provides a great opportunity for you to be the subject matter expert in payroll and benefits administration. You will also have the benefit of providing direction and mentorship to one direct report our Payroll Specialist.

Job Title: Payroll and Benefits Manager

Reports To: Director of Human Resources

Location: Newport Beach CA (hybrid)

FLSA Status: Exempt

Position Status: Full-time

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00AM - 5:00PM

Pay Range: $90000 - $100000

Travel time: Up to 25%

  • Appreciates the opportunity to use own expertise to work independently and creatively to solve problems
  • Enjoys close hands-on involvement in all work tasks with very disciplined delegation to one direct report (Payroll Specialist) and careful follow-up

The Skills:

The Payroll and Benefits Manager will run the daily functions of the payroll and benefits areas department including processing bi-weekly payroll reconciling payroll deductions with benefits feeds benefits administration (medical dental 401k) and overseeing payroll and benefit plan compliance.

  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing including data entry tax compliance and distribution of paychecks.
  • Process final checks in a timely manner to ensure employees are paid within state and federal guidelines.
  • Administer benefits programs such as health insurance retirement plans and leave policies.
  • Stay up-to-date with federal state regulations related to payroll and benefits to ensure compliance.
  • Collaborate frequently with HR and finance teams to resolve payroll and benefits related inquiries.
  • Conduct regular thorough audits to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  • Implement process improvements to streamline payroll and benefits administration.
  • Prepare reports and analysis related to payroll and benefits costs.
  • Handle confidential employee information with the utmost discretion.
