Description
We are looking for a Staff Component Engineer to fill a position at our Research and Development Centre located in Wigram Christchurch.
Role/Duties:
- Leading the identification and evaluation of appropriate components for use in our product designs.
- Working with suppliers purchasing staff and product development engineers from a parts selection until its approval.
- Creating and maintaining parametric data to support component selection for design engineering.
- Investigating alternate component technologies and suppliers to reduce cost while improving component quality and reliability.
- Supporting change management with PCN/ECR/MCO/ECO reviews and approvals in our PLM System (Arena).
- Detail Oriented / Accurate
- Integrity Ability to say No when making approvals
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Ability to work in cross-functional teams
- Degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering (or equivalent)
- 10 years experience outside of university in Electrical Engineering.
