As a Senior Systems Engineer youll play a leading role in the delivery and management of Microsoft-based infrastructurespanning M365 Azure and on-premises environments. Youll ensure service integrity drive incident response and optimize technology operations for both cloud and traditional platforms.

This role is pivotal in supporting NZTAs digital transformation with a strong focus on automation security and continuous improvement.

We are looking for an effective communicator with excellent collaboration and relationship management skills.

Appointment base salary is between $109408 -$145876 commensurate with skills and experience.

You will be expected to participate in an on-call roster (typically every 6 to 7 weeks for one week).

To be successful in this role you will bring:

• 5 years experience in technology infrastructure operations (MS Server M365 Azure)
• Proven administration and maintenance of MS Teams MS Defender and related services
• Experience with automation monitoring and security best practices
• Solid understanding of network fundamentals
• Strong communication and relationship management skills
• Willingness to work flexibly and attend data centres as required
• Experience working with modern operational and Agile methodologies
• Relevant certifications (MCSE Azure Security) are advantageous

You will demonstrate knowledge of or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Māori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Māori. You will also have knowledge of or a willingness to gain an appreciation of te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public sector.
