The Country Finance Controller has direct operational responsibility for accounting operations cost accounting and execution of control procedures in the countries of support in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and the Companys policies and procedures set by the Corporate Controller.
Responsibilities- Oversee the month-end Close and financial reporting for assigned countries and ensure compliance with accounting policies regional/international standards and US GAAP.
- Prepare/review highly complex and material journal entries and account reconciliation related inventory fixed assets AP AR and other areas of operations.
- Manage third-party service providers (if applicable) to ensure timely statutory and tax filings.
- Maintain the internal control environment in the Companys international operations and compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
- Review internal and external (statutory) audit reports to address issues and mitigate risk.
- Review customer sales contracts/complicated accounting transactions and provide guidance to ensure proper accounting treatment.
- Identify financial and operational risks that require application of advanced technical accounting standards.
- Work with finance and business managers to identify and mitigate financial risks.
- Establish accounting related policies and processes for the assigned countries.
- Drive efforts to improve accounting processes and coordinate efforts to introduce technology solutions within the countries of operation where appropriate.
- Acts as a liaison between country operations and Regional Controlling.
- Lead coordination with external finance/accounting service providers (e.g. EY Accenture) and local non-Controlling business leaders.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications
- 10 years of experience in accounting and finance in total
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with Bachelors degree in Accounting or Business Administration
- Experience in public accounting (Big 4 firms preferred) with min 4 years of Auditing experience
- Exposure in APAC local tax and statutory compliance preferred
- Experience in multi-deliverable contracts management preferred
- Experience complying with U.S. SEC financial reporting requirements preferred
- Experience in large multi-national organizations preferred
- Experience in Financial Self-Service industry preferred
- Experience in leading/participating in process improvement activities
- Exposure to general finance information technology systems (preferably SAP)
- Must be able to travel when required.
