Position at Empire Packing
Principle Responsibilities:
Accountable for all financial aspects of the plant.
- Compare performance with operating plans and standards. Provide reports and interpret the results of operations to all levels of management. This includes the formulation of accounting policies the preparation of financial statements and operating data the coordination of systems and procedures and special reports as required.
- Establish and implement a sound operational and organizational plan in direct support of the business plan.
- Estimate plant expenses on a regular basis.
- Supervise and motivate staff and ensure successful completion of accounting duties and reports.
- Monitor performance of direct reports. Review direct reports and approve performance appraisals initiated by direct reports.
- Interview and hire new employees for own area; make promotion and transfer decisions for own area.
- Assure the duties responsibilities and authority of each job are clearly defined effective and communicated to incumbents.
- Has final responsibility for providing the organization and its management with the appropriate financial and operating information necessary. This individual and the accounting staff are expected to work with other department groups on problems involving accounting systems and financial planning.
- Ensure optimum performance of the function. Recommend and implement techniques to improve productivity increase efficiencies cut costs take advantage of opportunities and effective practices.
Requirements
Education: B.S. Degree in Accounting or Finance
Special Skills:
- Computer skills and good interpersonal skills a must
- Through knowledge of Accounting principles and procedures
Experience: Minimum 5 years accounting experience
Manages:
- Accounting Specialist
Working Conditions:
- General office environment
- May be required to walk through the Plant (cold environment)
The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:
- Benefits: Vision Medical and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment;
- Paid Time Off: sick leave vacation and 6 company observed holidays;
- 401(k): company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule;
- Base salary range of $92917-$125438
- Incentive Pay: This position is eligible to participate in the Companys annual bonus plan the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program
