The Property and Campus Development team supports the ongoing academic mission of tkou Whakaihu Waka by providing the best facilities services and physical environment in which staff students and the public can learn teach live and play. Everyone benefits directly and indirectly from the dedicated efforts of Property Services Division employees. Were the physical foundation of the teaching research and learning that takes place at the University and were proud of the important role we play. The Division is responsible for buildings and more than 22000 hectares of land. With over 3500 University Staff and over 20000 students.
The role / Te mahi
As a Quality Analyst in the Quality and Performance team you will support the delivery of services across the Property and Campus Development portfolio including Trade Services Construction (reactive and planned) and essential facilities operations.
Youll collaborate with internal teams to refine reporting processes improve data accuracy and deliver insights that inform business cases and support evidence-based decision-making. A key focus of your role will be identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and service outcomes through process improvement and performance monitoring. You will also ensure compliance with university policies including health and safety risk management and contractor management while staying up to date with industry trends. Where required you may also perform duties such as Health & Safety Officer first aid officer or fire warden.

The ideal candidate will hold a tertiary qualification in Data Science Mathematics Statistics Business Analytics or a related field with proven experience in data analysis management or business intelligence. They will demonstrate strong analytical aptitude the ability to work with large and complex datasets and the capability to present insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience within property management construction or maintenance environments is highly valued particularly where performance metrics and KPI tracking are involved. A strong understanding of data governance and privacy standards is also important alongside the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-focused environment.
Essential skills and knowledge include:
Proficiency in data tools such as Excel SQL Power BI Tableau R or Python.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Advanced data visualisation and reporting capabilities.
High attention to detail and commitment to data quality.
Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
Experience in coding forecasting or modelling tools (e.g. R SPSS TM1) would be advantageous.
Demonstrated ability to present analysis in an accessible user-friendly format.
Dedication to working in a culturally safe and respectful manner and demonstrates an understanding and appreciation of Te Ao Mori Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles and Pasifika values.

This is a permanent full-time (37.5 hours per week) position based in tepoti Dunedin.
The appointment range for this role is $75631 to $80503. Top of Range $88750 per annum.
You must have the right to live and work in Aotearoa New Zealand to be considered for this position.
