Job Description:
As a Test Lead provide leadership and expertise to Testing Teams / QA professionals on a broad range of test services and solutions for assigned projects / programs ensuring established standards are met and planned objectives are achieved.
CUSTOMER:
Lead test team in the delivery of test planning test preparation and test execution activities in adherence to standards for system testing
Responsible for all phases of testing for assigned projects or releases including (but not limited to) system integration testing business acceptance testing performance testing operability testing and deployment verification testing
Manage creation review and sign-off of testing documentation (e.g. test strategies plans schedule cost estimates test cases dashboards defect logs test phase closure reports) for assigned area / projects and ensure all test artifacts adhere to testing standards and audit requirements
Co-ordinate necessary and assigned testing resources to ensure project timelines and deliverables are met
May analyze develop debug execute and maintain complex manual/automated test cases within the testing environment
Prioritize testing tasks based on goals and risks of projects and ensure testing milestones activities and tasks are completed as scheduled
Lead team in using test tools defect tracking tools as per standards
Ensure testing is conducted in a manner that does not impact the production environment (e.g. scheduling of file transmissions etc.) and in accordance with established information security and information privacy policies and guidelines
Chair the daily defect / status calls to ensure defects are documented and tracked and defect fixes are retested in timely manner and report the status of test planning test execution and defects via. daily dashboard reporting to project team using standard test quality metrics
Act as a consultant / resource to other areas of IT and the Business
Lead relationships with project team members offshore teams third party vendors/ service partners release teams and client areas as appropriate
Build / maintain new or existing test environments; monitoring trouble shooting triaging issues and coordinating resolution with all technology -ordinate code deployments maintenance upgrades and project testing across numerous environments on various technology platforms.
SHAREHOLDER:
Ensure adherence to prescribed testing processes and identify assess and address risks
Review escalated risks and issues work with stakeholders to develop contingency plans resolve risks and escalate further as necessary
Ensure all test artifacts adhere to testing standards and audit requirements and are stored in the project site; participate in audit reviews of test artifacts when required
Manage testing activities and artifacts to ensure adherence to gating criteria and participate in gate reviews
Understand and communicate testing impact of scope changes / project change requests to the project management team both from a timeline/cost and a risk perspective
Ensure timely notification of issues/problems and make recommendations for issue/problem resolution to project team and resolve and/or escalate testing issues where required
Track financial actuals against provided estimates and provide updated monthly forecasts to Project Manager
Lead resource requirements for testing resources on a project / release
May develop and maintain virtualized services components and environments by using Service Virtualization tools to enable functional and non-functional testing
May develop debug execute and maintain complex performance testing scripts using various performance testing tools

Participate in knowledge transfer within the team and business units;
Coach new or less experienced colleagues and act as a reference for delivery lifecycle and testing methodology.
Identify and recommend opportunities to enhance productivity effectiveness and operational efficiency of the business unit and/or team
Provide insight information and recommendations on industry trends and significant issues
Promote and develop awareness of testing methodologies and standards
Continuously enhance knowledge/expertise in own area and keep current with leading-edge technologies trends
BREADTH & DEPTH
Works independently in a senior/lead role on a diverse range of tasks and may be relied upon to coach/ educate others
Provides expert professional knowledge of testing methodology best practices and processes (including but not limited to automation performance and data management methodologies)
Develops test plans and strategies and may lead test execution activities for projects of moderate to high complexity
Identifies testing risks within projects and provides testing solutions/processes to mitigate the risks
Generally reports to a Manager or Senior Manager
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
Undergraduate degree or Technical Certificate
5 7 relevant experience
