Job Summary

Music Minister

Our Lady of La Salette in Berkley Michigan is seeking a part-time MusicMinister

Basic qualifications:

Catholic in good standing with the Catholic Church
Degree in Music or equivalent and experience directing a choir
Proficiency in piano organ singing and conducting.
Deep knowledge and familiarity with the Roman Rite of the Catholic Liturgy

Specific Responsibilities:

Planning and providing music for one Saturday afternoon Mass (4:30 PM) and one Sunday Mass (9:30 AM).
Directing and developing the parish choir
Directing cantors
Scheduling substitute organists when necessary
Working collaboratively and appropriately with parish priest and/or his delegate
Reports to Deacon Dan Darga Director of Worship
Providing and/or organizing the music for funerals and weddings

Additional Expectations:

Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to work with volunteer choir members and cantors
Computer and organizational skills

Compensation within the guidelines of the Archdiocese of Detroit
