The Property and Campus Development team supports the ongoing academic mission of tkou Whakaihu Waka by providing the best facilities services and physical environment in which staff students and the public can learn teach live and play. Everyone benefits directly and indirectly from the dedicated efforts of Property Services Division employees. Were the physical foundation of the teaching research and learning that takes place at the University and were proud of the important role we play. The Division is responsible for buildings and more than 22000 hectares of land. With over 3500 University Staff and over 20000 students.

The role / Te mahi

The Fleet and Parking Manager plays a vital role in overseeing the Universitys vehicle fleet and parking operations ensuring that all vehiclesfrom electric carts to vans and specialist equipmentare kept safe reliable and ready for use. This hands-on role involves managing daily fleet activities including scheduling maintenance coordinating repairs and conducting inspections to meet strict safety and compliance standards. The Manager leads the strategic procurement and replacement of fleet assets balancing cost efficiency with the Universitys growing commitment to sustainability through the adoption of low-emission and electric vehicles.

The Manager works with the Parking Coordinator to optimise space use ensure compliance and meet campus needs. The role also involves risk assessments audits health and safety oversight and occasional first aid or emergency support playing a key part in the Universitys operations.

You bring a tertiary qualification in Logistics Business Administration Facilities Management certification in Fleet Management or equivalent professional experience. Your proven track record in fleet management or transport logistics showcases your deep expertise in vehicle maintenance procurement and compliance.

With exceptional organisational and time-management skills coupled with strong budgeting and cost-control capabilities you meet all necessary licensing requirements to operate fleet vehicles confidently. You thrive on building meaningful collaborative partnerships and take pride in connecting with diverse stakeholders to drive success together.

Other key skills include:
Knowledge of electric vehicle technology and infrastructure understanding of sustainability in transportation.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and fleet or asset management software for tracking and reporting.
Ability to analyse and report on vehicle usage maintenance schedules and operational costs.
Preferred experience with vehicle telematics GPS tracking systems fuel efficiency tools and sustainability initiatives.
Familiarity with fleet management software and parking enforcement is highly desirable.
Flexibility to work outside standard hours when necessary.
Dedication to working in a culturally safe and respectful manner and demonstrates an understanding and appreciation of Te Ao Mori Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles and Pasifika values.

This is a permanent full-time (37.5 hours per week) position based in tepoti Dunedin.

The appointment range for this role is $75631 to $80503. Top of Range $88750 per annum.

You must have the right to live and work in Aotearoa New Zealand to be considered for this position.
