About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Data Governance Consultant with a strong understanding of data management principles to support a security-focused project centered on Data Protection and Recovery.
This is a hands-on strategic consulting role that requires expertise across governance security and compliance alongside strong stakeholder management skills. Youll work closely with executives directors engineering teams and information security functions to deliver solutions that ensure resilience compliance and trust in enterprise data.
What Youll Do
- Act as SME on data protection and recovery leading initiatives in:
- Data Asset Inventory
- Data Retention
- Data Disposal
- Data Encryption
- Access Controls
- Data Recovery
- Design and implement governance operating models workflows and policies aligned to business and regulatory needs.
- Engage directly with senior stakeholders across business engineering governance and information security.
- Provide advisory and delivery expertise across data cataloging (Alation preferred) and dashboarding (Power BI).
- Define and enforce governance frameworks supporting compliance resilience and long-term data strategy.
- Conduct workshops training and enablement sessions to embed governance practices across the organisation.
What Youll Need
- 5 years in data governance information security or data management roles.
- Proven expertise in data protection practices (retention disposal encryption recovery access control).
- Strong understanding of governance principles and regulatory requirements (e.g. GDPR data protection standards).
- Experience with data cataloging (ideally Alation) and BI tools (Power BI).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills able to engage confidently with executives and technical teams alike.
- Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to bridge business and technical perspectives.
- Hands-on experience with data management platforms or scripting (SQL Python APIs) is a plus.
