SCHOOL OF CREATIVE ARTS

Project MuSE

Project MuSE is a multi-year transformational education project. The scope of the project covers a wide range of opportunities for the under-privileged gifted students parents engagement community music industry-higher education collaboration and curriculum development such as the use of EdTech art-tech interdisciplinary learning cross-cultural studies and performance and pedagogical research. A key component of the project includes a new 5-6 year music programme that includes an in-school/after-school instrumental ensemble-based music training for primary school students.

Part-Time Instrumental Instructor ()

Responsibilities:

  • Provide instrumental group training classes to participating primary schools;
  • Communicate and coordinate lessons with project team and participating schools;
  • Provide feedback and suggestions for program content design and development;
  • Proactively seek innovative ways in instrumental teaching;
  • Assist in carrying out program content designed by project team; and
  • Perform any other duties such as school performances and instrument demonstrations as assigned to support the successful operation of the project and the school.

Requirements:

  • A bachelors degree in Music or above;
  • Good command of written and spoken English and Cantonese;
  • Strong organisational communication and interpersonal skills; and
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with high level of self-motivation and accountability.

Remarks:

  • The applicant should possess substantial experience and qualifications in teaching one or more of the following instruments: Violin Viola Cello Double Bass Flute Clarinet Bassoon Trumpet Horn Trombone and Tuba; and
  • The appointee is required to work from one of the following locations: Kwun Tong Sham Shui Po Kwai Tsing Wong Tai Sin and North District.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
