Job Description

The Opportunity:

As Data Governance Manager you will play a strategic role in delivering sustainable growth for Seven. You will be responsible for defining implementing and overseeing our data governance framework ensuring that data across the business is accurate secure and compliant with privacy regulations. As we put data at the heart of all we do this is a pivotal role in protecting the integrity of our data assets while enabling the business to innovate with confidence.

In this role you will work cross-functionally with content marketing sales product and technology teams to establish best practices in data quality metadata management compliance and usage. Reporting to Director Data and Growth and based in South Eveleigh Sydney you will:

  • Develop implement and maintain the company-wide data governance strategy policies and standards.
  • Establish data stewardship roles and responsibilities across business units.
  • Lead the creation and enforcement of data classification frameworks to control sensitive data access.
  • Ensure alignment with GDPR CCPA OAIC and the upcoming Privacy Act reform.
  • Define and monitor KPIs for data quality (accuracy completeness timeliness consistency).
  • Introduce automated data validation and cleansing processes to maintain accuracy in large-scale audience datasets.
  • Champion a data-driven culture by educating teams on data governance principles and best practices.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with data handling storage and transfer.

About You:

You are a trusted advisor and cross-functional collaborator with an agile mindset and strong leadership skills.

You will have:

  • Proven experience (5 years) in data governance data management or a related field ideally within media digital or technology sectors.
  • Strong understanding of privacy regulations and data protection laws (GDPR CCPA OAIC).
  • Familiarity with data governance tools and platforms (e.g. Collibra Alation Informatica).
