Our National Security Team supports the intelligence community providing operating and assuring critical voice video and collaboration services for the full spectrum of operations.
AT&T Catapult is an Apprenticeship program focusing on providing a tailored educational track to support immediate and future needs of multiple Federal Government programs. This years educational track is: IT and Network Field Support/Engineering.
AT&T has openings for Apprentices to support multiple Federal Government Programs -- providing support to our customers IT Infrastructure.
**Starting position requires hands-on work/training to be completed on various projects until clearance process is finalized and approved.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
GNOC Technician/ Technical Support Associate Engineer:
- Position requires work on weekends and holidays as the GNOC operates 24/7/365.
- Follow organizational standard operating procedures including the use of ticketing systems and documentation.
- Assist with the response to and resolution of incident tickets.
- Assist with and help implement standard network change requests.
- Provide support to Tier 2 and 3 network engineers for incident management and projects (site surveys coordinate and install new equipment).
- Assist with the coordination of network operations maintenance repairs or upgrades.
- Assist with the performance of configuration management functions such as update topology drawings ensure asset management records are accurate inventory.
- Utilize complex network analysis tools to identify and correct problems in the network while maintaining logs and records associated with reported problems or situations.
- Assist with troubleshooting procedures for restoring the network to optimal performance levels.
- Assist with fault management for the network and support performance management functions.
- Assist with the response isolation and resolution of network troubles. Monitor alarms and alerts to identify network elements causing network degradation or failure.
- Assist with reporting functions and data input associated with network management.
- Assist with analysis of network characteristics (e.g. traffic connect time transmission speeds packet sizes and throughput); recommend procurement removals and modifications to network components.
- Assist with optimization of network topologies and site configurations.
- Assist with the planning of installations transitions and cutovers of network components and capabilities.
- Help coordinate requirements with users and suppliers.
Junior Network Engineer:
- Proficiency with TCP/IP and other LAN/WAN protocols. Strong knowledge of fundamental IP routing and switching protocols (BGP OSPF STP VTP) and network technologies (IPSEC VPN NAT QoS). Hands-on experience with Cisco and Juniper routing switching and security products highly desired.
- Experience with establishing small to mediumsizednetwork solutions including all phases from design implementation and documentation. Familiar with methods for monitoring and troubleshooting networkissuesor outages when they arise.
- Experience with creating system and network architecture topology and flow diagrams using MS Visio.
- Front End Software development: HTML5 CSS JavaScript.
- Back End Software development: Python RedHat JavaScript CSS and HTML5.
- Linux environment experience.
- VM server experience.
- Microsoft Windows server.
- Core WAN and network monitoring experience.
- Microsoft Project experience with scheduling.
- Familiarization with engineering readiness process.
- Systems Engineering.
- Information Assurance or COMSEC experience.
- Network Configuration Management experience.
- Logistics and material management experience.
Required Clearance: Clearable. Able to obtain and maintain TS/SCI with polygraph
Required Qualifications:
- Be 18 Years of Age or older by 1 January 2025.
- Be a US Citizen.
- Be a domiciled VA Resident.
- Be able to lift and move weights up to 50 lbs. multiple times per shift.
- Be eligible via prescreen and actively processing for a Federal security clearance.
- Must have min. High School diploma or GED.
- Be actively enrolled in Franklin Skills training program

- Demonstrated technical interest and acumen.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. multiple times per shift.
- Must be willing to achieve and maintain DoD8570 certification needed for position
- Must be available to work shifts between the hours of 6am-and 6pm as determined by management while in the clearance process.
- The usual and customary methods of performing the jobs functions require the following physical demands: significant lifting carrying pushing and/or pulling; some stooping kneeling crouching and/or crawling; periodic work in tight areas.
Desired Qualifications: Network certifications: CompTia Network CompTia Security Cisco CCNA CCNP CCIE Juniper JNCIA JNCIS or JNCIE ITIL Foundations and/or CISSP.
Our Network Technician/Engineer (Government) earns $21.61/hour (32 hours per week). Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography experience expertise and education/training.
