Operations is one of the largest divisions in the firm and has diverse responsibilities including correctly settling and recording millions of transactions per day identifying and mitigating all operational risks developing strong client relationships and partnering with technology to realize the full potential of IT and e-solutions. Throughout the Operations department continually seeks ways to improve while actively supporting the development of new businesses structures and markets.
ISG Fixed Income Operations provides Operations functions in direct support of activity executed by Institutional Sales & Trading. The broad organization partners closely with Sales and Trading to develop and implement new products and services as well as drive efficiency and reduce risk in our processes. At all times we are focused on delivering quality service to clients both internal and external.
ISG Fixed Income Operations Risk has an excellent opportunity for an energetic driven and risk aware candidate with relevant Operations experience to contribute to the creation and execution of the departments risk agenda. The role provides the opportunity to gain experience of the products and activities of the department and to build a broad network of senior stakeholders and subject matter experts. The team are responsible for setting executing upon and enforcing the operations and broader firms Risk management agenda. This is achieved through partnering closely with line teams senior stakeholders subject matter experts other risk teams and colleagues from across the broader organization.
The team is also engaged in various proactive and preventative risk reduction initiatives focused deep dives and proactively drive adherence to the firm-wide risk framework policy and standards.
Responsibilities;
- Oversight of Fixed Income Operations EMEA Risk & COO functions
- Support risk colleagues and senior management in designing and facilitating key business aligned risk management programs and risk-aligned projects/deep dives.
- Coordination with Operations Risk and Control Audit and other Operations Risk teams to design facilitate and execute upon initiatives in support of governance efforts across ISG Operations.
- Execute upon a potentially broad range of strategic projects and Trading Control Governance including New Product Approval Unauthorized Trading and monthly Key Supervisory reporting to the Business Unit
- Identifying new opportunities to create efficiencies in monthly metrics reporting and ad-hoc queries.
- Conduct annual Risk and Control Self Assessments (RCSAs) of specific product areas.
- Complete the production of risk packs and key risk indicators inclusive of analysis trending exception management and commentary.
- Will represent Fixed Income Operations in various Operations and firm-wide governance meetings
Requirements;
- Bachelors degree required.
- Experience in financial services particularly Operations activities and ideally with 10 years experience in a line and/or risk management role with team management experience.
- Strong awareness of risk and control.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to influence stakeholders and build relationships within Operations and across the organization.
- Candidate should be a self-starter with ability to work independently or part of a broader team multi-task and execute in a timely fashion.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office & Power Apps.
- Individual should be performance-driven proactive and able to display a proven ability to take on challenges and to execute upon key deliverables.
- Flexibility to react and adapt to business needs and changing priorities.
- Able to organize themselves efficiently keep track of outstanding items and meet deadlines.
