Duties and Responsibilities
1. *Provides academic support to the department chair and to the Family and Consumer Sciences Department (FCS).
2. *Coordinates and assists with course planning preparation and development of educational materials; designing developing and preparing program promotion media and other related materials.
3. *Facilitates and enters in course planning information into Coursedog and makes modifications as needed and required.
4. *Develops coordinates and conducts FCS activities and events to recruit students.
5. **Assists in the development of the FCS student-alumni survey and the entry of student data for evaluations of the FCS academic programs.
6. *Collects statistical data and prepares various reports relating to the FCS academic program operation and administration in accordance with UH academic requirements.
7. *Reviews literature in Apparel Product Development and Merchandising Human Development & Family Studies Intimacy & Marriage and Family Resources curriculum to assist in development of the FCS program development student recruitment and alumni tracking.
8. Supervises the FCS student assistants.
9. Supports FCS academic projects and other miscellaneous academic activities.
10. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
1. Possession of a baccalaureate degree in business social sciences or education or related field and 3 year(s) of progressively responsible professional experience with responsibilities for business administration; or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education knowledge skills and abilities as indicated.
2. Functional knowledge of principles practices and techniques in business management demonstrated by knowledge understanding and ability to apply concepts terminology.
3. Functional knowledge and understanding of principles theories federal and state laws rules regulations and systems associated with business management.
4. Demonstrated ability to recognize problems identify possible causes and resolve the full range problems that may commonly occur in the departmental administration.
5. Demonstrated ability to understand oral and written documentation write reports and procedures and communicate effectively in a variety of situations.
6. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations groups team members and individuals.
7. Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer and apply word processing software.
8. Knowledge and experience working with Coursedog.
Desirable Qualifications
1. Working knowledge and data applications in Excel SPSS Access and other data base systems.
2. Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat Photoshop and Illustrator.
3. Demonstrated ability to review literature and curriculum.
4. Knowledge and experience with CTAHR academic programs.
5. Demonstrated ability to promote student recruiting events.
