What you will do
As our Director of Responsible AI youll play a critical leadership role in designing and scaling the frameworks that guide Amgens use of AI across the organization globally. This is more than a governance roleits a chance to architect ethical high-performing AI systems in one of the worlds leading biotech companies.
Lets build the future of AI in this high-impact role you will:
Define and lead Amgens global Responsible AI strategy ensuring safe explainable and compliant AI deployment at scale.
Build governance models and technical standards that shape how advanced AIincluding predictive and agentic AI solutionsis used across the business.
Collaborate with senior leaders in Data Science Engineering Legal and Compliance to embed ethical AI practices into enterprise-wide workflows.
Serve as Amgens key interface to global regulators and AI policy influencers.
Develop and monitor AI performance metrics risk models and incident response frameworks to ensure trust and transparency in every model we deploy.

What we expect of you
Were looking for a bold visionary leader with deep technical fluency and a passion for shaping the future of AI. You combine strategic insight with hands-on understanding of real-world AI systemsand know how to lead teams to deliver both.
Advanced degree (PhD MSc or equivalent) in Computer Science AI/ML Data Science Engineering or a related field.
10 years of experience in AI data governance or AI-related compliance roles including 6 years in leadership positions.
Deep expertise in AI/ML models including generative AI and strong knowledge of global AI regulations (e.g. EU AI Act FDA AI guidance).
Track record of building AI governance frameworks from policy to implementation.
Experience leading cross-functional programs and engaging with regulators or industry groups on tech ethics and compliance.
Strategic thinker strong communicator and influential leader who thrives in complexity and ambiguity.
