Job Description
Applications are invited for appointment as Part-time Teaching Assistant in the Journalism and Media Studies Centre (JMSC) (Ref.:532133) to commence on September 1 2025 for four months with possibility of renewal based on satisfactory performance and funding availability.
The JMSC is seeking a dedicated and trained fact-checking journalist to support faculty in supervising Annie Lab () our fact-checking media outlet and assist in teaching graduate-level courses on fact-checking.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in supervising the operations of Annie Lab
- Support the teaching of relevant fact-checking courses at the graduate level.
- Contribute to a collaborative and innovative learning environment.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree or above
- Strong command of written and spoken English
- Solid understanding of the news and social media landscape
- Proficiency in digital verification tools and techniques
- Knowledge of other Asian languages and prior teaching experience are advantageous
Working Hours and Compensation
- The position requires 28 hours per week with some flexibility in scheduling but relevant classes are held on Monday afternoons (or possibly evenings) and all day Wednesday in the 2025-26 academic year (first semester).
- Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience calculated on an hourly basis.
