Job Title: Senior Financial Controller
Location: Breda Netherlands (Only considering local applicants)
Language: Fluent English
Work Type: On-site
Contract: 6-month contractor role with the potential to extend to 12 months and become permanent
About the Role
As our Senior Financial Controller your mission is to uphold the financial health of the company. Youll lead rigorous accounting operations implement strong internal controls and ensure full compliance with financial regulationsparticularly within a SaaS environment. From accurate revenue recognition and audit readiness to scalable process design youll play a critical role in enabling sustainable growth.
Your performance will be measured by key metrics such as the speed and accuracy of closing the books clean audit reports and precise subscription revenue recognition. These ensure our financial reporting is reliable risks are minimized and decisions are driven by trustworthy data.
Your Day-to-Day
Oversee core accounting functions: general ledger accounts payable/receivable payroll and fixed assets
Manage the financial close process monthly quarterly and annually
Ensure tax and finance compliance while maintaining strong internal controls
Oversee accurate billing deferred revenue and subscription revenue recognition
Liaise with auditors and manage audit preparation and processes
Develop and enforce financial policies procedures and control systems
Handle tax filings and regulatory reporting working with external consultants
Support the Head of Finance in cash flow management treasury and financial planning
Mentor junior accounting staff and enhance finance systems and tools
Your Background
Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA is a plus
7 years of experience in accounting/finance with at least 2 years in a SaaS environment
Strong expertise in revenue recognition and financial controls
Proven experience managing audits and driving compliance
Comfortable working with ERP systems and SaaS billing platforms
