JOB TITLE: Finance and Reconciliation Officer

JOB DETAILS:
- We are seeking a detail-oriented and organizedFinance and Reconciliation Officerto oversee financial reconciliation processes ensure accuracy in financial records and support overall financial operations.
- The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining financial integrity and supporting decision-making through accurate data management.
Key Responsibilities
Reconciliation:
- Perform daily weekly and monthly reconciliation of accounts including bank accounts ledger entries and payment systems.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies ensuring accuracy and completeness in all financial records.
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and submit regular reconciliation reports to management highlighting trends issues and recommendations.
- Assist in generating financial statements and audit schedules.
Transaction Monitoring:
- Monitor and verify financial transactions to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping of all reconciled items.
Process Improvement:
- Identify inefficiencies in reconciliation processes and propose solutions to enhance accuracy and timeliness.
- Collaborate with teams to implement best practices in financial operations.
Support Financial Operations:
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities ensuring reconciliations are completed and discrepancies resolved.
- Work closely with the accounting and finance teams to maintain general ledger accuracy.
Compliance and Audits:
- Support internal and external audit processes by providing accurate and up-to-date reconciliation records.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable financial regulations and standards.
Qualifications and Skills
Education:
- Bachelors Degree in Finance Accounting Business Administration or a related field.
- Professional certifications (e.g. ACCA CPA ICAN) are a plus.
Experience:
- Minimum of 4 years experience in reconciliation accounting or finance-related roles.
- Experience with financial software and reconciliation tools (e.g. SAP Oracle QuickBooks Bank-one PowerBI SQL).
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial tools.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and reconciliation techniques.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional analytical skills and a keen eye for identifying discrepancies and patterns.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly.
- Problem-Solving: Proactive approach to identifying and resolving reconciliation and financial issues.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
