Job Description
Position
Summary:
Instruction
- Provide information literacy and research-focused instruction in the general education curriculum undergraduate instruction (including on occasion credit bearing courses) upper division subject-specific information literacy and research instruction in partnership with faculty
- Work collaboratively with Instructional Design and Technology the Tutoring and Writing Center Digital Strategies & Scholarly Communication and other partners as needed to support research and develop new teaching and research methods and modalities
Research Assistance
- Provide research assistance at Olin Library virtually and in-person
- Provide research support for students and faculty
- Confer and partner with other Olin librarians in the ongoing maintenance and development of the librarys research assistance and information literacy programs
Liaison
- Communicate regularly with assigned liaison departmental faculty
Minimum Qualifications andEducation:
- MLS or MLIS from an ALA-accredited library program.
- Educational background and/or work experience that indicates an ability to integrate the work of the library into a campus community.
- Enthusiasm and experience with information literacy instruction for groups and individuals.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Ability to interact with the public and academic community effectively and courteously.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently.
- Appreciation for liberal arts education and the role of the library in higher education.
- Ability to adapt to change in a library environment.
- The potential to present publish or otherwise contribute to academic librarianship or another appropriate discipline.
