Position Summary:
The Center for Connected Autonomy and AI (CA-AI) at Florida Atlantic University is seeking a highly organized and motivated CA-AI Research Operations Manager to support its growing portfolio of federally and privately sponsored research programs. This position is critical in helping CA-AI scale its project portfolio while ensuring efficient administration of projects and awards and upholding compliance and stewardship obligations. The position will report directly to the CA-AI Director and work closely with the Associate Director for Research Programs in I-SENSE as well as the Administrator of Office Operations.
Responsibilities:
- Support the administration of the CAAI labs growing research portfolio of federal and privately sponsored research programs.
- Assist with proposal development including budget preparation; materials collection (e.g. biosketches current and pending); narrative framing; proofreading and editing; and compliance checks.
- Support project management activities including tracking and reporting of technical deliverables.
- Manage project compliance activities including scheduled and ad hoc reporting.
- Managing CAAI lab students and volunteers.
- Manage the tracking and ordering of lab supplies and equipment and coordinate maintenance scheduling as needed.
- Serve as a liaison between CA-AI and sponsor administrative teams.
- Represent CA-AI at relevant meetings both internally and externally.
- Assist the Director in coordinating and participating in meetings with sponsors and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with the Associate Director for Research Programs in I-SENSE and the Administrator of Office Operations to ensure the optimal success of the CAAI Lab.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the CA-AI Director.

Masters degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization; or bachelors degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience required.
