Role Summary
The role of the Field Engineering Manager involves overseeing site activities resources and projects related to an automatic warehouse system primarily due to new projects and growth opportunities in Asia. The responsibilities include coordinating a service team working closely with project managers from the main office and ensuring the preparation of tasks in advance. The role demands quick and effective corrective actions organization of sites and management of orders and deliveries. The manager should identify the necessary tools procedures and specialist workers needed for tasks both before and during installation.
In addition to technical management the role has a strong customer service component requiring the manager to build and maintain relationships with clients partners and service providers to ensure high-quality service delivery. The position is based in Bangkok with the expectation of international travel for project coordination. Strong people skills are essential for success in this role.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintaining ongoing communication with managers staff and vendors to ensure smooth company operations.
- Enhancing the efficiency of existing processes and procedures to increase the companys internal capacity.
- Ensuring operational activities are completed on time and within budget.
- Monitoring staffing needs managing training programs and outlining career development paths.
- Leading motivating and supporting a large team in a demanding time-sensitive environment including managing career development plans and resolving problems.
- Defining and coordinating site activities for equipment installation and commissioning at customer locations.
- Identifying and engaging local contractors for installation and commissioning tasks.
- Developing and maintaining a directory of contractors and resources.
- Planning and scheduling site activities and allocating resources accordingly.
- Collaborating daily with Site Managers on all site-related activities.
- Ordering necessary materials and spare parts for on-site use.
- Maintaining a database of local contractors and engineers.
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Field Engineer.
- Extensive on-site work and commissioning experience.
- Proficient in reading and understanding electrical diagrams mechanical drawings Auto CAD layouts and manuals.
- Skilled in using computer applications including Microsoft Office and Outlook.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with experience working in teams.
- Excellent customer relations skills and experience in client interactions.
- Proven ability to coordinate with service teams customers and suppliers in a professional manner.
- Previous experience in team leadership and managing multiple suppliers.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to multi-task and quickly adapt to changes.
- Effective team player with strong communication skills.
- Self-motivated and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness and ability to travel for extended periods.
