We are seeking an experienced and agile HR Senior Manager to establish and lead the HR and office operations at our new R&D hub in Lingang.
This position plays a key role in building both infrastructure and culture from the ground up while ensuring compliance with local regulations and alignment with 42dots global mission. Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese and English is essential.
Responsibilities
1. HR & Office Setup
Lead the setup of the HR function and office operations in Lingang ensuring compliance with PRC labor laws and internal policies.
Implement and manage HR systems including payroll benefits HRIS and legal documentation.
Oversee vendor engagement office infrastructure and day-one readiness for the technical teams.
2. Talent Acquisition & People Operations
Develop and execute hiring strategies to attract top-tier R&D talent in autonomous driving AI and systems engineering.
Foster partnerships with local universities research institutes and startups to build sustainable talent pipelines.
Facilitate onboarding relocation and cross-border collaboration with 42dot headquarters.
3. Culture Building & Performance
Establish a high-performance mission-aligned team culture.
Design and implement evaluation and development systems for technical and operational staff.
Coach team leaders on people management performance and communication.
4. Cross-Border Coordination
Serve as the primary HR contact between the Lingang entity and 42dot HQ.
Support global mobility remote collaboration and joint development programs.
Qualifications
Bachelors or Masters degree in Human Resources Organizational Development Business Administration or related fields.
10 years of HR experience including a proven track record in building HR functions or office setups from scratch.
Strong understanding of PRC labor law and localized HR best practices.
Fluent in Mandarin and English (written and verbal).
Experience in tech startups R&D-driven environments or the mobility/autonomous vehicle sector preferred.
Ability to operate independently communicate cross-functionally and scale HR operations in a fast-moving organization.
Preferred Qualifications
Understanding of the R&D lifecycle in fields such as autonomous driving AI systems or mobility platforms.
Comfort in supporting research and testbed environments that involve joint ventures university collaborations and PoC validation.
Familiarity with Korea-based HQ operations or experience working with Korean companies is a plus.
