Job Description
The Fresh Mark facility in Canton Ohio is currently accepting applications for an Safety Supervisor.
The Safety (EHS) Supervisor is to provide leadership and direction to EHS Coordinators ensuring a safe workplace and to ensure compliance with safety and health procedures and regulations. The Supervisor will also assist in developing and implementing appropriate safety and health management processes and systems at the site level and support functional objectives within the framework of Fresh Mark Inc.s corporate philosophy.
Key Accountabilities
- Maintain and ensure the safety of all employees through training enforcement of safety rules and compliance with all Fresh Mark Inc. policies and procedures.
- Maintain a sound working relationship with operations and the safety department.
- Drive departmental efficiencies and maximize productivity.
- Recognize hazards to identify conditions or actions that may cause injury illness or property damage.
- Ensure effective communication between employees and management.
- Control labor costs; staffing and overtime.
- Promote and maintain teamwork among employees.
- Conduct inspections and audits to assess safety and health risks associated with equipment materials processes etc.
- Assist managers and supervisors to establish regulatory objectives plan programs to achieve those objectives and integrate safety into the culture of the organization.
- Ensure compliance with all safety & health and environmental regulations and keep abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization.
- Provide training to employees on topics such as lockout/tagout (authorized machine specific general) hazard communication hearing protection emergency procedures machine guarding etc.
- Participate in the accident investigation program
- Monitor employee compliance with established safety programs
- Lead and administer activities of the facility Safety Committee and serve on the various compliance teams (Safety/Regulatory Team PSM Team etc.) to ensure corporate consistency.
- Other duties as needed.
Minimum Requirements
- Combination of 4 years education training and/or work experience in Occupational Safety and Health Safety Science Safety Technology Safety Management Industrial Hygiene or related field.
- Must possess strong organizational and verbal & written communication skills.
- Must possess strong leadership and people skills.
- Work Authorization: Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
