Job Summary:
Our client is one of the leading companies specializing in food and consumer products. They are expanding their business and looking for an Associate Director - Merchandise who has direct experience in Food or Non-Food Products and dealing with a large of suppliers.
This Director he/she needs to create the strategy insight training processes and systems. He/she will be driving transformation in a fast-paced and energetic environment working with key stakeholders across all the teams in Company to allow buying teams to deliver the right product at the right price for our customers today and in the future.
He/she could be working on anything from: setting our pricing strategy; deciding how we display products on the shelf; building colleague capability; improving our Supplier relationships; managing large-scale change projects; or shaping our promotional planning.
Specific Duties and Job Functions:
- Conduct and review annual budgeting (Sales margin other income) by Categorizing customer segments and strategic planning including corporate positioning market and competitive analysis.
- Review quotation process to manage supplier negotiation to ensure products being developed meet targeted margin and price.
- Plan and produces an effective solution to achieve sales and profit targets.
- Preparation for Supplier trade term meetings and individual supplier conferences.
- Review Price Negotiation with Direct & indirect competitors Price matching with competitors Normal price setting / Price structure new item negotiates margin and other income.
- Review promotion year plan Action plan for sales gap recovery Special events and activities.
There are key areas within the function:
Process and Systems Development:
- Look for new opportunities to simplify the way all purchasing teams work today and transform new work methods in the future.
- Improve business processes and operations to allow purchasing team to deliver the best products to customers.
- Work closely with all suppliers to ensure our processes simplify their relationships with the company.
Stakeholder Management:
- Build training and capability plans for purchasing team members and suppliers.
- Manage the alignment of all change activities across the Product function.
- Ensure legal compliance across the Product function.
Commercial Strategy and Pricing:
- Defines the commercial strategy.
- Shapes the pricing and promotions policy.
- Provides insight to the Product Teams
- Shapes the trade plan.
