Work Schedule:7.5 hours per day 184 days per year starting at the beginning of the 2025-2026 school year.
Salary: East Valley Certificated Salary Schedule $22558.80 - $45435.60 depending on placement per degree credits and experience.

Job Summary:
Under the direction and supervision of the principal or designee this teaching position will plan instruction teach motivate inspire and assess students in all subject areas. This teaching position will promote a high quality education program that reflects state standards. This teaching position will help offer educational choices that engage and inspire students throughout their educational path in a manner that affords them an opportunity to graduate with the knowledge and skills necessary to adapt with ease to a changing society. This teaching position will create and monitor Written Student Learning Plans for students in grades K-12.
Essential Job Functions:
This list of essential job functions is not exhaustive and may be supplemented as necessary. Depending upon individual assignment the employee may perform all or a combination of several of the following duties:
- Create and monitor Written Student learning Plans for K-12 students.
- Communicate and work in partnership with parents to design and deliver instruction assess student learning and assist parents in refining their planning teaching and assessment skills.
- Plan and facilitate individual parent meetings for the purpose of: disseminating program information receiving input for class offerings measuring student progress and guiding subsequent instruction.
- Communicate a firm commitment to the fundamental right and duty of parents to choose the kind of education they desire for their children and to recognize parents as the primary teacher of their children.
- Ensure that all program policies handbooks procedures and practices comply with state law.
- Develop effective flexible and personalized learning programs for students whose families wish to provide all or most of their childrens education at home.
- Create classes based on the needs of the student population.
- Understanding and ability to integrate technology in a blended learning environment that fosters student learning collaboration and application of technology skills.
- Maintain a current understanding of and follow state guidelines for: record keeping enrollment curriculum etc.
- Approach this assignment with enthusiasm creating a welcoming environment for our families.
- Complete all required local and state reports.
- Incorporate state standards within all content areas.
- Assist in the evaluation of education programs and the selection and evaluation of instructional equipment and materials.
- Integrate competencies goals and objectives into lesson plans.
- Teach using various methodologies including lectures demonstrations discussions laboratory experiences and technology-based opportunities.
- Perform curriculum and instructional development activities.
- Utilize an inquiry based hands-on approach for your students.
- Teach effective communication skills.
- Be responsible for constructive classroom management and environment.
- Meet course and school wide student performance goals.
- Create positive educational climate for parents and students to learn.
- Provide social and academic guidance for students under his/her direction.
- Promote the districts educational goals through parent conferences and related activities.
- Counsel confer and communicate with parents and school district personnel regarding student progress.
- Observe and evaluate students performance.
- Maintain appropriate student records.
- Manage student behavior in the classroom using approved disciplinary procedures.
- Will participate in school PLC using data to improve student learning.
- Maintain and promote own personal professional growth through appropriate coursework workshops reading of professional materials etc.
- Take necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students equipment materials and facilities.
- The employee shall maintain a consistent presence at the assigned work site(s) and work the regular work hours specified by the contract.
- Professionally interact with colleagues members of the public and students.
- Comply with and uphold all district policies and all applicable laws.
- Fulfill other responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.

- Understand and apply current educational developments and instructional methodologies.
- Flexible in learning new concepts and adapting to a variety of assignments and conditions.

- Display enthusiasm optimism and motivation towards teaching and student learning.
- Participate in school district and community events.
- Ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds or 33% of body weight whichever is less.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid Washington State Teaching certificate no later than the first contracted day of the 2025/2026 school year with appropriate endorsements as required by law and regulations.
- Elementary Education endorsement required.
- Successful Washington State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation Fingerprint Clearance.
- Proof of Immunization (if born 1/1/57 or later).
- I-9 Employment Eligibility in compliance with the Immigrations Reform and Control Act.
- Completion of all district-required training within thirty (30) calendar days from hire date.
Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics described are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee may be required to deal with distraught and/or angry persons and may be exposed to infectious diseases carried by children. The noise level in the work environment is acceptable to this particular environment and can vary depending upon daily activity but will remain within acceptable ranges.
Evaluation:
This position shall be evaluated per the terms of the East Valley Education Association Collective Bargaining Agreement. The process shall include an evaluation of the employees performance of the above essential job functions and required skills.
