1. Leadership and Management
Lead and manage the Thai language and culture department (staff curriculum resources).
Develop a clear vision for Thai education aligned with the schools mission and Thai Ministry of Education (MOE) requirements.
Supervise and mentor Thai teachers.
Conduct regular departmental meetings lesson observations and performance reviews.
2. Curriculum and Instruction
Design implement and review Thai language Culture and History curriculum
Ensure vertical and horizontal curriculum alignment.
Provide curriculum for Thai first language and non Thai courses
Integrate cultural content (e.g. Thai festivals traditions) across the school year.
3. Compliance and Assessment
Ensure curriculum and documentation meet MOE regulations and school accreditation requirements (ONESQA CIS WASC EDT NEASC etc.).
Oversee internal assessments and support external standardized Thai language tests.
Analyze student achievement data to inform teaching practices and improve outcomes.
4. Staff Development
Provide training and support for Thai language teachers on pedagogy assessment and classroom management.
Facilitate professional learning community (PLC) activities within the department.
Encourage reflective practice and innovation in Thai language teaching.
5. Cultural Promotion and Events
Lead the planning and coordination of Thai cultural events (e.g. Wai Kru Day Loy Krathong Songkran).
Support whole-school initiatives that promote Thai identity and values.
Act as a cultural liaison between Thai staff students and international staff/parents.
6. Communication and Collaboration
Communicate effectively with school leadership teachers students and parents.
Represent the Thai department in school-wide meetings and curriculum planning.
Collaborate with international teachers to support cross-curricular learning and bilingual development.
Translate or support translation of school documents and communications when needed.
7. Administrative Duties
Manage departmental budget and resource allocation.
Maintain accurate records of curriculum plans student performance and MOE documentation.
Coordinate Thai language support for students with additional learning needs.
Skills Qualifications and Experience
Required:
Bachelors or Masters degree in Thai Language Education or a related field.
Teaching license issued by the Teachers Council of Thailand.
Proven experience teaching Thai language culture and history in international schools.
Strong leadership communication and organizational skills.
Knowledge of the Thai national curriculum and international educational standards.
Preferred:
Experience working in international schools
Fluency in English.
Familiarity with curriculum frameworks such as IB IGCSE Cambridge
