Tech Manager in the Delivering Deal Value team

About the role

We help clients achieve maximum value on their deal transactions by solving transformational and operational challenges. Our work is often complex and fast paced; at the same time the opportunities for personal and career development are vast. You will be working alongside your UK colleagues on a range of projects across the different products we offer as a team including:

• Carve out and divestment support i.e. What does the business look like in a standalone state What support and transition services will it need to function How can we help our clients execute the separation and ensure a smooth Day 1

• M&A Integration i.e. How can our clients protect and grow value in an acquisition what is the right level of integration to achieve this and what does an effectively run integration programme look like Where are the synergies between two businesses and how well has the plan for capturing these synergies been compiled

• Operational due diligence i.e. Has the business been performing well What does its operating model look like is it sustainable and fit for purpose are there any associated operational risks What could be improved to reduce costs and unlock further value for our client

• Post-acquisition performance improvement using our Rapid Value Creation methodology i.e. Where might value lie in the business and how can we generate sustainable cost savings

While the entire DDV team offers the four products listed above you will specifically focus on the IT back-office elements of the work and / or Tech-based businesses whose operating models rely on complex digital platform(s).

As a Tech Manager in the DDV team your typical responsibilities will include:

• Leading Tech-related workstreams in large projects or taking end-to-end responsibility for small Tech-focused projects. As part of this owning key pieces of IT analysis and deliverables from M&A point of view

• Leading analysis and developing hypotheses independently as well as reviewing hypotheses and analysis produced by more junior team members

• Owning relationships with individual members of a client team

• Contributing to business development activities such as the creation of proposals discussion documents and other

• Developing internal relationships with DDV UK and within PwC Bulgaria

• Onboarding and coaching new members of the team

What we are looking for in ideal candidate

• Background in any or combination of the following: a) M&A / deals; b) Direct IT operational or process improvement experience; c) IT management of change / IT consulting; or d) IT audit

• General understanding of key business application design and/or implementation to include one or more of ERP CRM BI Middleware bespoke platform eCommerce or any industry specific front office systems

• General understanding of key infrastructure concepts and components i.e. networks data centres and cloud

• Comfort around IT and operational analysis to quickly understand the core IT operational and back-offices processes and their associated costs to the business

• Experience in reviewing IT enabled performance improvements IT enabled cost reduction plans and IT capital expenditure needs

• Native or close to native verbal and written communication - all work will be in English and primarily with native often high-profile speakers (from DDV UK and end clients)

• Report writing - ability to write clear and concise reports based on detailed analysis in iterative mode with several 360-degree review rounds by DDV UK peers

• Stakeholder management - ability to quickly develop rapport and build strong relationships (within DDV UK and end clients)

• Financial acumen - comfort around financial analysis and in understanding the drivers of financial information related to technology components

• Analytics - ability to quickly process large amounts of information and draw out hypotheses and key messages

• Resilience - self-starter comfortable with uncertainty thrives under pressure and able to flex working hours to meet deadlines

• Natural curiosity - ability to apply logic and problem solving to difficult business problems

Desirable but not essentials skills and experience

• Leading and/or delivering IT change transformation projects

• Restructuring business and/or process improvement expertise with focus on IT benefit realisation and maximising value of IT assets

• Experience around IT operational analysis and understanding of IT impact on business processes their associated costs and potential issues as well as opportunities for improvement

• Leading an IT function/ department or team (not mandatory but an appropriate level of maturity is expected)

• Financial and/or managerial accounting literacy (not a must or proficient level but relevant foundation knowledge is expected)

• MBA or other professional qualification in business management or finance

• Further foreign language skills (beyond English) at minimum proficient level

• Certifications E.g. ITIL v3/4 Certifications e.g. Expert(3) or Foundation or up to Managing professional(4) Cobit Prince 2 PMP AWS Google Cloud Azure PSM/ PSPO(Scrum exposure) LSS (GBYBBB) etc.
