Senior Research Assistant/Research Assistant ()
The Department is seeking a Senior Research Assistant/Research Assistant to join a UGC-funded project on the history of health and wellness in pre-modern India. This project will use textual analysis and translation and is based in the Department of History.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct library research;
- Perform digital searches;
- Help develop and maintain an online presence;
- Reaching out to libraries and archives to arrange procurement of research materials; and
- Assist in teaching and designing teaching materials.
Requirements:
- A bachelors degree inHistory Religious Studies Asian area studies or a related field;
- Proficiency in conducting manual and digital searches for research materials;
- Previous experience in website maintenance will be an advantage;
- Knowledge of Indian languages and scripts is not required but an interest is preferred;
- Strong English reading and writing skills; and
- Curiosity about the history of science medicine and religion.
Rank and salary with be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
