Your role

The Technical Trainer plays a key role in designing and implementation of the scalable technical training development and enablement solutions aligned with DLR talent strategies aimed at ensuring competency of its personnel and availability of critical skills within the business.

You will act as the trusted adviser to the business to ensure consistent approach to enhancement of the technical capability in the sub-region.

The ideal candidate will have extensive engineering experience in data centre operations a deep understanding of data centre technologies and a passion for sharing knowledge and skills as well as mentoring others.

Key responsibilities:

1. Training Program Development:

  • Lead on design and development of comprehensive training programs and materials specific to data centre services (e.g. manuals online modulesvideos).
  • Collaborate with data centre experts and other stakeholders to ensure the relevance and suitability of the content.
  • Manage activities to customize training programs to meet the specific needs of different roles within the data centre environment.

2. Delivery of Training Solutions:

  • Manage effective delivery of training solutions training delivery in accordance with the key training principles to ensure utilisation of appropriate techniques and methods for achieving learning outcomes.
  • Manage the effective utilisation of internal training resources and take the lead on the collaboration with external providers where necessary and deliver training programmes

3. Programmes evaluation:

  • Assess the effectiveness of training solutions and make necessary adjustments and improvements as required through evaluations tests and feedback.

4. Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for improving training processes and materials related to data centre services.
  • Participate in professional development activities to enhance training skills and technical knowledge.
  • Engage with the data centre and training community to stay informed about best practices.

5. New hires/ traineeship pathways and programmes:

  • Take a lead role to plan formulate and ensure the implementation of trainees/ apprenticeships and new hire training programmes

What youll need

  • Engineering qualification preferably electrical
  • Proficiency in data centre technologies. Strong understanding of data centre infrastructure management and best practices.
  • Experience in a similar role i.e. training coaching/ mentoring etc. is advantageous for this position
  • Excellent presentation and instructional skills. Experience with e-learning platforms and training software. (not essential but will be advantageous)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to explain complex technical concepts in simple terms.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and motivate learners.
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues related to data centre operations.
