Job Description

Special Education Paraprofessional

The Richland R-IV School District is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Education Paraprofessional for the 2025-2026 school year. This position plays a vital role in supporting the success and inclusion of students with special needs across educational settings.

Position Type: Full-time
Location: Richland R-IV Schools

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide instructional and behavioral support to students with IEPs under the direction of certified special education teachers

  • Assist students with academic tasks daily routines social skills and mobility as needed

  • Support classroom accommodations modifications and assistive technology use

  • Help maintain a safe respectful and inclusive learning environment

  • Supervise students during transitions lunch recess and transportation

  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all school and special education policies

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 60 college credit hours or passing score on the Paraprofessional Praxis exam (or willingness to complete)

  • Experience working with children with disabilities is preferred

  • Patience strong communication and a team-oriented mindset are essential

  • Ability to follow individualized education plans (IEPs) and staff direction
