The Opportunity
As Manager of Demand Planning this position is responsible for leading the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process. Key deliverables of the S&OP process include the coordination of a consensus forecast an understanding of new product introductions and a thorough knowledge of current supply issues which might prevent the business unit from meeting its stated demand order to accomplish this goal the Demand Planning group interacts on a continual basis with numerous functions including Sales Marketing Finance and Operations. This position is also responsible for inventory management defining imports forecasts and inventory level both at warehouse and consigned at customer level according to business needs.
What Youll Do:
1. Leadership of Vascular S&OP: Lead and facilitate monthly cross-functional meetings to drive forecast alignment culminating in monthly General Manager meeting. Gathers inputs from retail sales counterparts on a regular basis and facilitates monthly customer forecast review meetings. Challenges assumptions to assure the most accurate forecast is developed
Controls forecasts and manages Inventory both in consignment and in the warehouse define imports and sales forecasts
Plans supervises and executes all activities related to imports inventory sales forecast S&OP and invoicing
Supervise Manage develop and coordinate the priorities of one Demand Planner.
2. Develops Customer Item Level Forecast to support the S&OP process
Gathers inputs from distributors and direct accounts on a regular basis and facilitates monthly customer forecast review meetings. Challenges assumptions to assure the most accurate forecast is developed. Consolidates and presents to GM.
Incorporates product trends into forecast models and monthly forecast updates.
Applies SAP/APO statistical modeling for analysis and forecasting.
Supports monthly financial projections leveraging S&OP as starting point and adjusting for specific ordering patterns or assumption changes.
Participates in identifying root cause of error to ensure continuous improvement.
Communicate and document all pertinent information relative to the S&OP process
Attend S&OP meetings to represent the customer forecast to brand and management teams
Ensures new innovations and promotional assumptions are appropriately incorporated into customer level forecast.
Supply root cause analysis for forecast error/bias
Inventory management defining imports forecasts and inventory level both at warehouse and consigned at customer level according to business needs.
Keep procedures and policies aligned with business reality and needs respond to Audits (internal and external)
3. Reporting
Effectively maintains and updates department reports. Demand Planner manager is responsible for the accuracy of the reports and understanding communicating the top-line summary of what the data is stating.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Business Administration Finance or Supply Chain related fields of study
Minimum 6 years of experience preferable in Demand Planning Supply Chain or Finance related positions. Individual must have an ability to effectively manage workload to ensure deadlines are not missed and be able to manage conflicting priorities.
The individual must be highly motivated and have a desire for process improvement and innovative thinking.
Accuracy of work is critical to this position.
Advanced excel skills.
