Hourly Full-Time:
Monday Friday 40 hours per week

The Job You Will Perform:

• Uphold CCMHs Core Values of: Respect Compassion Justice Stewardshipand Excellence
• Ability to accurately abstract and assign CPT/HCPCS/ICD-10 codes for the following areas in a Critical Access Hospital:
  • Inpatient
  • Observation
  • Emergency Department
  • Ancillary Services
• Charge entry for the departments.
• Understand coding guidelines and regulations to ensure compliance with healthcare standards.
• Review patient charts notes and other documentation to understand the services provided.
• Perform query process when required.
• Communicate professionally both written and/or verbally with providers and other staff members.
• Work closely with Business Office on coding denials received.
• Ability to work independently with limited oversight and open to changes within the coding department.
• Participate in special projects and complete all other duties as assigned.
  

The Qualifications Skills and/or Knowledge You Bring:

• Certified Hospital Coder (CPC/CPC-A/CCS) required
• Expertise in coding CPT HCPCS ICD-10-CM/PCS
• Knowledge of medical terminology anatomy and physiology disease processes and pharmacology
• Expertise in health information documentation data integrity and data quality
