Real People Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and experienced Blending Supervisor for a paint facility in the Greenouge area. The ideal candidate will oversee the blending and color mixing processes ensuring that production meets the required specifications schedules and quality standards. This role requires a proactive leader who can effectively manage a team while maintaining compliance with industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
- Production Management: Coordinate and monitor all blending activities to meet production specifications including blending initial batches making shade adjustments and ensuring the correct filling and labeling of batches. - Quality Control: Make necessary adjustments to shade gloss and viscosity to meet customer requirements. Prepare and test sample panels to ensure quality standards are met. - Team Leadership: Distribute daily tasks monitor team performance and provide coaching and mentorship to less experienced team members. Assist with the training and supervision of blending operators. - Compliance & Safety: Ensure compliance with safety procedures including hazardous material handling and maintain facility standards through proper maintenance and housekeeping. - Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of production inventory levels and customer data. Identify and manage obsolete or damaged materials in accordance with established procedures. - Communication: Act as the liaison between various departments including Sales Customer Relations Management (CRM) and Logistics to ensure smooth operation and communication.
Challenges:
- Economic: Prioritize daily workloads to meet deadlines while managing staffing complaints and potential production delays. - Safety: Maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations within a demanding environment. - Quality: Ensure products consistently meet customer expectations within complex production processes.
Decision-Making Authority:
The Blending Supervisor will make decisions related to labor and resource allocation production schedules and site safety with the approval of the Facility Manager. They are also encouraged to suggest improvements to processes and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Education: Secondary school level education is required. A relevant Bachelors degree or ongoing tertiary education is preferred. - Experience: Familiarity in a similar production role with knowledge of paint manufacturing processes and associated regulations. Previous experience in team management is an advantage.
