You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailApplications are invited for appointment as Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacology and Pharmacy (Ref.: 532566) to commence as soon as possible on a two-year fixed-term basis with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance.
Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree in pharmacy public health epidemiology biostatistics or other related disciplines with post-doctoral research experience. Applicants with both a bachelor of pharmacy degree and a Ph.D. degree in pharmacy will be preferred. They should have a strong quantitative and qualitative background; experience in analysing epidemiological data using R STATA SAS or other statistical packages; demonstrated expertise in the analysis of large and complex datasets; excellent written and oral communication skills in both English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin); and the ability to work independently as well as in collaboration with a multidisciplinary in longitudinal analyses and state-of-the-art statistical and epidemiological models would be an advantage. They should have an excellent track records of academic research preferably on pharmacoepidemiological studies. Experience in conducting qualitative studies (e.g. patient recruitment performing interviews and analysing data from interviews and/or surveys) will also be addition prior clinical and research experience in community pharmacies (local/overseas) will be a must. Since the appointee will be responsible for a project funded by the Hong Kong Jockey Club applicants with experience in handling trust-initiated/foundation-funded projects will be highly desirable.
The appointee will be responsible for coordinating an evaluation study on pharmacy services in primary care using both quantitative and qualitative methods and conducting pharmacoepidemiological research using big will be expected to take a leading role in overseeing research projects and supervising junior research staff. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme totalling up to 15% of basic salary.
