About this Job

The mission of the Human Resources office is to provide a professional and responsive approach to Public Safety Services human resources needs in the program areas of policies and procedures benefits administration classification and compensation employee administration and human resources-related training and development.

An ideal candidate for this position should possess the following competencies:

The ability to relay information correctly and appropriately to connect people and ideas.
Displaying Expertise:
The ability to exhibit specialized skills or knowledge gained from experience or training
Making Accurate Judgments:
The ability to form an opinion objectively and decisively based on relevant information and in accordance with established standards.
Thinking Critically:
The ability to objectively question analyze interpret and evaluate information to form a conclusion.

Selected Preferred Competencies

Accepting Direction:The ability to accept and follow directions from those higher in the chain of command.
Acting with Ethics and Integrity:
The ability to be consistent honest and a trustworthy steward of State resources.

Minimum Qualifications

Three years of human resources experience; OR

Six years of full-time experience in any field; OR

A bachelors degree.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Position-Specific Details

Appointment Type:This position may be filled as a four-year job appointment or as a probational appointment.

Career Progression: This position may be filled as a Human Resources Analyst A B C or a Specialist

Compensation:
The Human Resources Analyst A has a Special Entrance Rate of $1394.40 bi-weekly.

The Human Resources Analyst B has a Special Entrance Rate of $1491.20 bi-weekly.

The Human Resources Analyst C has a Special Entrance Rate of $1648.00 bi-weekly.

The Human Resources Specialist has a Special Entrance Rate of $1821.60 bi-weekly.

In addition to biweekly salary the newly hired incumbent will also receive premium pay in the amount of $1 per hour for every regular hour worked.
