M te tnga About the role:

Tamatha Paul MP is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Executive Assistant to join their team at the Parliamentary precinct in Wellington for 40 hours per week.

Youll be responsible for actively managing critical administrative functions for the MP including diary management scheduling travel booking meeting preparation and minute taking coordinating administrative activities and responding to correspondence.

Youll be working at a high level engaging with MPs Ministers and constituents in a timely manner sometimes with limited information at hand.

Youll have real-world experience in an EA role ready to ensure the smooth running of the MPs Parliamentary life.

Your calm proactive and flexible approach to work will help you build strong and trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Youll be someone who can anticipate the what if question and instinctively know when to escalate issues and when not to.

Ng haepapa Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the smooth operation of the MPs office by providing administrative support.
  • Plan and coordinate the MPs diary and ensure the schedule is followed and any changes are managed promptly with minimal disruption to the MP.
  • Ensure the MP is always well briefed for each engagement in the diary.
  • Respond to correspondence and emails escalate correspondence when required.
  • Coordinate administrative activities in the MPs office including those for meetings functions and events; including overseeing the collation of invitations and arrangement of facilities and catering

As an employee of Parliamentary Service you will be politically impartial in your role. An awareness of the political landscape may be beneficial in supporting your MP.

The pay band for the role starts at $72100 per annum and appointments will be based on skills and experience. All employees who work for MPs are employed on an events-based agreement with your employment linked to your MP. This role is based at the Parliamentary precinct in Wellington for 40 hours per week.
