COLLEGE OF INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION

Established in 2000 the College of International Education (CIE) is a self-funded unit of theHong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) offering full-time Associate Degree (AD) Higher Diploma (HD) and Undergraduate (UG) Honours Degree Programmes at the Shek Mun (Shatin) campus. It is a major education providing unit of the School of Continuing Education (SCE) one of the Faculties/Schools of HKBU. CIE currently enrolls over 3500 students and is committed to the Universitys mission of providing quality whole-person higher education with a Christian heritage. English is used as the medium of instruction at the College. Applications are now invited for the following position:

Lecturer II / Assistant Lecturer in Psychology ()

Responsibilities:

The appointee will be responsible for teaching a diverse range of subjects within the field of psychology. Courses offered by our Psychology Associate Degree and Undergraduate programs include but are not limited to Cognitive Psychology Sensation and Perception Experimental Psychology Research Methods Psychological Testing Ethics and Writing in Psychology Social Psychology Personality Psychology and Abnormal Psychology. Responsibilities include imparting skills and professional knowledge related to these areas providing academic guidance to students organising and coordinating experiential learning activities and assisting in the ongoing review and design of courses and programs. Applicants should maintain strong connections with relevant industries and professional organisations. The role also involves supervising practicum and/or honors projects.

Requirements:

Applicants should possess a higher degree preferably at the doctoral level in a relevant discipline along with substantial teaching experience. A masters degree will also be considered. Candidates must demonstrate dedication and a strong commitment to teaching and education both within and beyond the classroom. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team are essential. Candidates with less experience may be considered for the position of Assistant Lecturer.

Reference salary range:

Lecturer II : HK$38000 - HK$53000

Assistant Lecturer : HK$30000 - HK$39000

The appointee will work on Shek Mun (Shatin) campus.

The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of two years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.

Rank andsalary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
