Role Summary:
To assist the Security Supervisor with daily routine tasks. To check and summarize all reports. To delegate tasks to other security guards as required for the well-being of personnel and CF property.
What you will deliver:
- Supervise security staff in the absence of the Security Supervisor which includes training new Security Guards on rules regulations and procedures providing regular motivation and mentoring to staff and regular feedback reviewing reports submitted by Security Guards and interviewing all potential candidates for vacant positions
- Communicate verbally and in writing with Security Guards tenants and others as to safety and security practices to be followed
- Ensures the detection and reporting of anomalies to systems policies practices and procedures that could constitute threats or hazards to CF property or the health and safety personnel
- Liaise with law enforcement and emergency services personnel in dealing with routine and emergency situations
- Assist in leading all emergency incidents including evacuation of the facility
- Ensure all matters are handled promptly and effectively with complete follow-up and documentation as needed
- Carry out arrests if necessary following proper procedures and ensuring individuals rights are protected
- Maintain logs and provides reports for the management of security
- Develop and maintain a positive professional relationship with tenants customers police and other agencies
- Aid and assist clients in need by giving directions or finding lost persons and manages lost and found department and locker usage
- Render first aid or CPR if required
- Ensure monitoring and control of no parking and no smoking areas
- Ensure effective use of key or access control systems
- Monitor and communicates changes in building occupancy lease terminations and defaults
- Execute other assigned duties

What you need to succeed:
- General Law Enforcement Certificate in security or equivalent an asset
- Minimum two (2) years security and supervisory experience in a mall or retail environment
- Strong working knowledge of federal provincial and municipal legislation and regulations
- Certified in First Aid and CPR
- Current and valid Security License
- CPO (Certified Protection Officer) & CSSM Certified (Security Supervisor Program)an asset
- Knowledgeable of and skillful in crowd control in emergency situations and at special events
- Ability to use and inspect safety fire and security systems and equipment on CF property
