Job Description
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Tower Hamlets to assist with the appointment of a Skilled Vehicle Technician on a 7-month contract highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: 22.44 - 29.29 per hour
Summary:
To undertake the inspection servicing maintenance and repair of vehicles plant and equipment to ensure maximum safety availability and effectiveness of the Councils transport fleet.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out scheduled inspections servicing and repairs to cars vans heavy vehicles motorcycles and specialist equipment.
- Prepare and present vehicles to VOSA testing stations achieving a high pass rate.
- Undertake MOT tests for vehicles at the Councils MOT bay.
- Diagnose and repair faults in hydraulic pneumatic electrical and mechanical systems.
- Maintain accurate service and repair records timesheets and related documentation.
Requirements:
- NVQ Level 2 (or above) in Vehicle Maintenance/Mechanics or equivalent qualification.
- Full clean driving licence (car motorcycle 150cc PCV DD restricted and/or HGV Class 2).
- MOT Tester qualification (Class 4 Class 5 Class 7).(desirable)
- At least 2 years experience working on cars vans heavy vehicles and specialist equipment.
- Knowledge and experience of hydraulic pneumatic electrical welding and body repair systems.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team prioritising tasks to meet deadlines.
- Strong customer service skills when dealing with internal clients and colleagues.
