Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Overview: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of manufacturing equipment in a high-paced plastics production environment. This role focuses on preventive maintenance troubleshooting repair and continuous improvement to minimize downtime and optimize efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance of production machinery including mechanical electrical hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Troubleshoot and promptly respond to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
- Perform repairs on machinery molds and tooling as required including machining milling and metal fabrication.
- Manage and execute mold changes and preventive maintenance work on molds and auxiliary equipment.
- Collaborate with production teams to develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules and improvement initiatives.
- Keep comprehensive records of maintenance repairs parts used and costs incurred according to departmental procedures.
- Read and interpret technical manuals schematics and blueprints to guide diagnostics and repairs.
- Recommend and support equipment/process improvements to enhance overall efficiency and productivity.
- Maintain a clean safe and organized work area ensuring tools and equipment are in proper condition.
- Perform other maintenance and facility support duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a maintenance technician ideally in plastics or related manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical electrical hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Proficient in diagnostics troubleshooting and repairs of industrial or plastics processing equipment.
- Experience with plastics blow molding operations (injection and/or extrusion blow molding) required.
- Ability to read/interpret technical manuals schematics and blueprints accurately.
- Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving prioritization and multitasking abilities; excellent attention to detail.
- Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as needed.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a diverse team.
