Active or eligible RN license (state-specific or compact)
Bachelors degree in Nursing required
Advanced degree strongly preferred (e.g. MSN MBA MHA)
At least seven years of experience in healthcare including three or more years in a leadership capacity
Proven success in team building leadership and quality improvement initiatives
Previous experience in a for-profit hospital setting strongly preferred
Preferred:
Experience coordinating with pre-hospital providers (e.g. EMS paramedics)
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) must be obtained within 6 months of hire
The Director of Emergency Services is responsible for overseeing the strategic and day-to-day operations of the emergency department. This includes clinical supervision team management policy enforcement compliance and budgetary accountability. The director will lead initiatives to improve quality of care streamline throughput and support professional development among staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Direct and evaluate ER operations and clinical programs
Develop and implement departmental goals policies and procedures
Ensure regulatory and accreditation compliance
Collaborate with hospital leadership on budgeting and performance benchmarks
Coach and mentor clinical staff
Foster a patient-centered and outcomes-driven culture
