Job Description

Join Our Team at the School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Nanyang Technological University Singapore

The School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (SPMS) at NTU Singapore hosts research and education activities in two divisions: Division of Mathematical Sciences (MAS) and Division of Physics and Applied Physics (PAP). MAS covers diverse topics ranging from pure mathematics to the applications of mathematics in cryptography computing business and finance. PAP covers many areas of fundamental and applied physics including quantum information condensed matter physics biophysics and photonics. Over the years SPMS has attracted talented individuals from around the world and Singapore to join as scientific leaders and researchers.


We invite applications for a Research Associate position in the Weibo Gao Lab at SPMS NTU Singapore. The selected candidate will support research operations in the NTU Quantum Photonics Lab ensuring efficient administrative and logistical management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Coordination: Overseeing the planning execution and completion of research projects ensuring alignment with timelines and objectives.

  • Administrative Support: Managing day-to-day administrative tasks scheduling meetings coordinating events and handling communications within the research group.

  • Purchasing & Procurement: Handling the procurement of laboratory equipment consumables and services ensuring compliance with institutional policies and budget constraints.

  • Documentation & Reporting: Preparing and maintaining records of project activities progress reports and assisting in research paper and grant proposal preparation.

  • Resource & Budget Management: Tracking project expenditures ensuring optimal resource utilization and assisting in budget planning.

  • Liaison Duties: Acting as a bridge between the research team external collaborators and institutional administrative departments to facilitate smooth project execution.

Job Requirements:

  • A Masters degree in Engineering Applied Physics or a relevant field from a recognized university/institution.

  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.

  • Strong communication and writing skills.

  • Proactive efficient and responsive in managing tasks and responsibilities.
