We are seeking a highly skilled Controller to lead our finance and accounting operations. We are a growing small-to-mid-sized manufacturing company based in Columbus Ohio. Our focus is on quality innovation and operational excellence. We are seeking a highly skilled Controller to lead our finance and accounting operations. This role offers a hybrid remote schedule blending flexibility with on-site collaboration.Key Responsibilities
- Oversee full-cycle accounting operations including general ledger management month-end and year-end close and financial reporting in compliance with GAAP.
- Lead budgeting forecasting variance analysis and KPI reporting to support executive decision-making.
- Implement and maintain effective internal controls accounting policies and financial procedures.
- Manage inventory accounting and standard costing processes unique to manufacturing operations.
- Supervise and mentor a small accounting team ensuring accuracy timeliness and professional development.
- Collaborate with Production Supply Chain and Operations leadership to align financial data with operational goals.
- Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors to support audits compliance and tax filings.
- Hybrid schedule: Approximately 3 days per week on-site in Columbus 2 days remote.
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field required;
- CPA or CMA strongly preferred.
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience with at least 2 years in a manufacturing or cost accounting environment.
- Deep knowledge of GAAP internal controls and ERP systems (experience with Oracle SAP or NetSuite preferred).
- Proven leadership skills and experience managing accounting teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to drive process improvements and support strategic growth initiatives.
