Ruth Miskin Training teaches schools in the UK and internationally to deliver Read Write Inc. and wider Ruth Miskin programmes. We are passionate about teaching every child to read and keeping them reading our programmes are in over 8000 schools.
Role purpose
To support our busy friendly team to promote Read Write Inc. training to primary schools. This includes coordination of our free online and in-person events.
Responsibilities
Free online events
- Set up a termly free online events tracker and keep the information up to date seeking out any missing information.
- Schedule events with the relevant trainer based on the overarching plan for the term and populate the information in the tracker.
- Set up each event using our events management system and populate the meeting link in the tracker.
- Share the tracker with our partner Oxford University Press on a regular basis liaising with them as needed.
- Answer email queries from schools and trainers about our free events including managing the FreshDesk queue.
- Keep the free events web page up to date adding and removing events as per the events tracker.
- Attend our one-hour free marketing events to provide administrative support for the trainer responding to questions in the chat by pasting web links and reading out the questions for the trainer to answer at the end.
- Send out templated follow up emails within two days of the event to sign-ups.
- Carry out general administrative tasks as requested.
Free ad-hoc in person events
- Organise suitable venues for in person events with support from the Regional Events Training Co-ordinator and the event project team.
- Negotiate terms to best suit our needs; daily delegate rate minimum numbers catering cancellation fee.
- Complete contracts with venues.
- Be the emergency contact for issues on the day.
- Keep the venue informed of numbers and requirements.
- Ensure accurate and timely invoicing.
- Record ad-hoc in person events in the tracker.
- Set up each event using our events management system.
- Liaise with the agreed trainer/s for the in-person events.
- Keep the event project team and wider Training Coordinator team updated.
- Carry out agreed follow up with sign-ups.
Marketing support
- Subtitle films for use in marketing in YouTube.
- Create marketing assets for social media in Canva using our branded templates when required.
- Compile and manage a spreadsheet of customer quotes from our evaluations.
- Keep the website up to date with Ofsted reports and agreed new customer quotes.
- Ensure marketing folders are organised logically for easy access including our process documentation.
- Add prepared updates and trainer comms to RMT staff internal homepage.
- Prepare data reports from internal systems as requested.
- Carry out general administrative tasks as requested.
Skills and qualities
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written with customers suppliers our partner Oxford University Press and all levels of management.
- Proven administrative skills efficient in planning organising and prioritising.
- Write copy succinctly and with accuracy.
- Work independently and use initiative.
- Manage workload effectively.
- Rigorous in attention to detail.
- Efficient administrative skills able to plan organise and prioritise.
- Proficient IT skills Word and Excel database experience knowledge of Canva or similar package.
- Knowledge of and interest in the UK education system.
- A team player who is willing to step in and help when needed.
- A commitment to inclusivity and diversity.
