JOB FUNCTIONS
Within the specialty of the Nurse Practitioner (NP) they are responsible for managing health problems encountered by the client and is accountable for health outcomes. The NP will follow the six standards of practice:
Provide treatment of adult adolescents and pediatric clients in Primary Care and Mental Health settings:
Assist with planning developing and education of health providers about behavioral health issues and the impact of these issues on client care:

Minimum Education Level
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and accredited Nurse Practitioner Program.
Minimum Experience Level
None
Certifications
Current Nurse Practitioner Certification as a psychiatric nurse practitioner in the State of Oregon at the time of appointment. Possession of a National Certificate for Medicare or the ability to obtain one by the end of trial service (6 full months from date of appointment).
Drivers License
Oregon Drivers License required within 30 days of hire.
Other Licenses
Possession of an unencumbered license as a nurse practitioner and registered nurse in the State of Oregon at time of appointment.
Desirable Qualifications:Two years or more of experience as a psychiatric nurse practitioner is preferred. Bilingual and/or bicultural competencies for the Latino population are preferred.
