Job Summary

As part of the Health System the Registered Nurse (RN) takes care of patients during their shift. The RN is responsible for making sure patients get the right care. This includes checking on patients planning their care carrying out treatments and seeing how well they are doing.

The RN uses medical knowledge and skills to make good decisions about patient care. The RN also helps teach and guide other staff members like Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) Patient Care Technicians (PCT) and Unit Secretaries.

**Qualifications:**

- You need to have at least 1 year of experience.

- You must have experience in taking care of patients right after heart surgery and its best if you have 3 years of this kind of experience.

- You need to have the Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications from the American Heart Association.

- TNCC certification is preferred but not required.

- You must have the NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.

- You should be willing to work in all areas where you have the skills.

**Certification Requirements:**

- ACLS (AHA)- BLS (AHA)- NIHSS

**State License Requirements:**- You must have a license to practice nursing in Ohio.
