Job Description
Locum Physician - Emergency Medicine
Join a leading healthcare facility in Pittsfield Massachusetts as a Board Certified Emergency Medicine Physician. This position offers full-time coverage from June to October 2025 with a focus on weekend evening and overnight shifts. The facility is a Level 3 trauma center with a total of 32 beds and an annual emergency room volume of approximately 55000 cases. Providers will utilize Meditech EMR. Job Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive emergency medical care to patients.
- Work 8-hour shifts primarily on weekends and nights.
- Coordinate with hospitalists for patient admissions.
- Supervise and monitor paramedics and ambulance services by radio.
- Respond to emergencies in a timely and efficient manner adhering to hospital bylaws.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Active Massachusetts medical license (highly preferred).
- BLS ACLS and ATLS certification (required).
- ABEM Board Certified or Board Eligible (within 5 years of residency).
- Clean background for expedited credentialing.
- Availability to start in June 2025.
- Local providers preferred; no flight arrangements covered.
License and Certification Requirements:
- Must hold a valid Massachusetts state medical license.
- BLS ACLS ATLS certifications are mandatory.
- Board certification or eligibility in Emergency Medicine is required.
