- High School Diploma
- 6 months experience working in an environment with mechanical equipment and the maintenance of equipment 6 months cash handling experience
Skills required for success:
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to service and maintain equipment
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations
- Ability to establish priorities and effectively handle several tasks simultaneously
- Ability to work in a highly secure and confidential environment
- Data entry skills including efficient skills with Microsoft Excel/Word Google Sheets/Docs
- Knowledge of accounting practices
- Ability to perform the physical demands of the position which include repetitive lifting of 25 to 40 lbs between 200 and 300 times per dayincluding from floor to equipment height of 4 feet

As a Coin Processing Technician youll be responsible for the accurate and secure handling of currency from various city departments. Youll utilize your keen eye for detail and your expertise in cash handling procedures to ensure the efficient processing verification and deposit of all received funds. Using state-of-the-art mechanical currency sorters youll streamline daily tasks while maintaining meticulous records. What will you do
- Coin Processing Technicians receive currency from City Departments. They prepare count verify all currency process the currency with mechanical counting and sorting equipment
- Prepare and exchange currency for the LRT System
- Inspect all shipping/receiving of currency cash boxes seals and locks for compliance to cash handling procedures
- Prepare documentation of currency received
- Prepare statistical documentation
- Prepare bank and armored car documentation
- Perform repairs and adjustments on various mechanical equipment.
- Perform regular preventative maintenance and tests on equipment
